Pastoral Leadership
Rev. Sky Kershner is the Pastoral Leader of UKV. As Pastoral Leader, Sky
provides certain
specific functions as part of the overall care offered to UKV members and
attenders. This includes speaking regularly at Sunday Services, helping the
board leadership with planning, and implimenting their vision for UKV, and
helping with education needs of UKV.
Sky's functions also include:
- Lunch meetings
- Sky has weekly lunch meetings with UKV
member-attenders. Usually these involve planning and visioning agenda,
and are often with UKV leadership. Sky also likes to have lunch with new
members of UKV, and with those considering membership. Lunch meetings are usually on a
Monday in Charleston. Please call Sky if you would like to
meet for lunch, his number is 346-9689.
- Life Coaching, Spiritual Coaching
- At the member's request, Sky is willing to meet
once a year with any member/attender of UKV in his office at the Kanawha
Pastoral Counseling Center for the purpose of Life Coaching.
- Life Coaching is designed to help you develop a
vision of who you want to be, to clarify and energize your dreams and
goals, and to develop a way to achieve your goals. Problem solving a
particular situation is also a part of this. Sky uses an appreciative,
positive, and energizing approach in his coaching.
- Additional Life Coaching sessions are available
with Sky at KPCC for the UKV reduced rate of $80 per hour (compared to
the usual fee of $135 per hour).
- Though a licensed and credentialed counselor and
family therapist, Sky does not do counseling or therapy with UKV
members. If these services would be helpful, Sky will help make a good
referral to a competent counselor.
- Special Services
- Sky is available to perform weddings, unions,
funerals, memorial services, baptisms, commitment services, and to
facilitate unique rituals or services by request on an as needed basis.
There is usually no charge for UKV members or attenders, though a gift
made to UKV would be appreciated. For more information on Special

- Emergencies
- Sky is available for hospital or emergency home
visits to UKV members or attenders on an as needed basis.
Sky is the Director of the Kawaha Pastoral Counseling Center, where he works
full time.
